For Mike, consulting and design is more than an intellectual exercise that ends when the house plan is handed off to the contractor. With decades of experience, Mike understands building materials and how they respond to different conditions over time. He has local knowledge about Portage la Prairie and the surrounding area -- from soil types and climate conditions to local suppliers/tradespeople and regulations -- to help you create a beautiful home that is built to last.
Mike is particularly interested in energy efficiency and resiliency. He keeps abreast on high performance building standards such as those from Passive House Canada and Efficiency Manitoba. He loves helping his clients reduce energy use, apply resilient design principles, and incorporate alternative power sources.
